My Sock Drawer

There's a saying that you can tell a lot about a person by the contents of their sock drawer. I beg to differ. I mean, I don't even have a sock drawer, I have a bin. A very messy bin. Let's just say that it takes me a while to find matching socks. (Which is one of the reasons why I don't like matching my socks).

So instead of showing off my personality through the contents of my sock drawer, I will just tell you about my favorite kind of candy.

Chocolate.

End of discussion. Nothing compares with chocolate. Those cheap candies that fill Ester egg and leap at you from parade flouts, they are exactly what they sound like. Cheap candy.  Chocolate, though, is the real thing. Especially chocolate with caramel in it. Or peanut butter.

Moving on, here are a few more favorites:

Movie: Agh! Do I have to decide? I would have to say Ever After. After Harry Potter, of course. Harry Potter always wins.

Book: After the previous paragraph this should be obvious.

Color: Is glitter a color? Because I would so put glitter.

Day of the week: Friday. For some reason Fridays have this special thing about them. I think it's because they are the start of the weekend, with many promises of fun. In fact, one of the ways that I get through Thursday is the knowledge that tomorrow is Friday!

Have a nice day, eat some chocolate,

The Start

Let's face it. I am not perfect. I might try to appear perfect, but it is not possible for anyone to be perfect. So, I try to cover up my imperfections and do everything right. There's something in me that thinks that I need to be perfect, I need to be good. But since I can't ever be perfect, than I end up being stuck. Being stuck is not fun.

This is where God comes in.

You see, even though I am not perfect and can never be perfect, God is perfect. He is perfect in all that He is, and He will always be that way. And that's not even the best part! God, in His perfect perfectness, washed me clean as well. Now I no longer have to be perfect because God is perfect for me!

Whew. The pressure is off. No longer do I have to keep on trying and trying, because I am already there. God has made me white as snow, clean, and new. I don't have to cover up my problems and wear a mask so that no one can see who I really am. Why? Because I am proud of who I am! I am proud of being an imperfect girl saved by the grace of a perfect God.

So I will make mistakes in writing this blog. I'll misspell a word or say something stupid. But that's all part of learning. But I hope that this blog tells the journey of a girl, her perfect God, and His saving grace! And her cat.
